Ukrainian anthem just before the show of authentic Ukrainian costumes from Folk Group VOLYA Ethnic Costumes Collection on March 30th. Huge thanks to every single person who helped put this beauty together in order to raise money for the kids left without parents as a result of the terrible war.
FOR UKRAINE: ART OF FREEDOM EHXIBITION
Six Authentic Ukrainian costumes from Folk Group VOLYA Ethnic Costumes Collection will be presented during the For Ukraine: Art of Freedom Exhibition at Schack Art Center (in collaboration with Viktoria Nikitiuk and Ukrainian Association of Washington State). All proceeds go towards buying preemie incubators: most of the babies in Ukraine are now born prematurely due to the war and constant stress.

ART FROM THE HEART AUCTION
For Giving Tuesday 2022 Folk group VOLYA in collaboration with immensely-talented artist Lizaveta Chyrvontsava vytinanka.by organized a charitable auction of her papercut paintings. 2/3 of the proceeds were transferred to the wonderful nonprofit youaretheangel.org for their targeted drives: support for terminally ill children staying in Ukraine and food drive for those affected by the war. The rest is going to the Domivka, "shelter for tails" as they call themselves – a place in Lviv, Ukraine that takes care of animals left without home.

EXPEDITION 2018
VOLYA members organized Folklore Expedition to Palesse Region of Belarus in late August 2018 in order to find, record and preserve ancient Belarusian folk songs that are still performed in Belarusian villagers. We are processing the songs, transcribing, and translate select songs to English; then, we'll present them to the audience.

During the event audience could not only watch the film, but also hear ancient Belarusian folk songs performed live by ethno-folk group VOLYA. Our viewers had an opportunity to taste some of the old drinks of Belarusian nobility, such as Kroupnick or Krambambulya. |

Members of Belarusian ethno-folk ensemble VOLYA shared their knowledge and songs with the audience, talked about different song genres, how songs from different regions of Belarus differ in style, singing technique and lyrics. We showed some footage form the ethnographic expedition that Volya Dzemka acquired during her last trip to Belarus and short clips from the documentary in progress "The Songs of Old Europe – Ancient Belarusian Folk Songs".

Exhibit of Countries
With a help of Belarusian community leaving in Seattle metropolitan area Volya represented Belarus in exhibit of countries "It's a Beautiful World" on 08-17-2013 during the soccer cup "Desna". Volya performed a putting on bridal headdress ritual, accompanied by creating of "Namitka" and ritual bridal song. Visitors could touch some examples of fine Belarusian textile, see antique authentic Belarusian costumes (late XIX cent.) and taste "Kvas" - carbonated national drink.
